Edmund Fowle House can be rented for functions

Open for Tours on the 3rd Sunday of the month or by appointment. Tours $3.00
Children & Seniors, $5.00 Adults. The Edmund Fowle House was built in 1772 and is the
second oldest house in Watertown. Beginning in April 1775 this house was the meeting
place for numerous committees and in July of 1775 became the meeting place for the
Executive Council of the 2nd and 3rd Provincial Congresses being held in Watertown at
the outbreak of our War for Independence. Later in July 1776 when the 3rd Provincial
Congress adjourned the Governors Council of the Massachusetts Bay Colony continued
to meet until November 1776 after which they returned to the Town of Boston. The Edmund
Fowle House is available for small group rentals of up to 40 guests. Weather permitting the back
garden makes an ideal backdrop for your festivities. Rental rate is $125 an hour with a two hour
minimum . The rental allows for the use of the first floor as well as the grounds. An event manager
will be on site for the duration of your rental to greet your guests and assist with vendor coordination
of setup and breakdown. Please call the rental office at 617-926-7755 for details and a complete list of
guidelines. Historical reenactors, who are members of the Historical Society, are available to provide
various services such as greeters and tour guides if desired. Details are available from the rental office.
